The World of Horizons

While SkyBlock is at the core of Horizons, the world itself is much bigger than your island in the sky.

When you’re not building, upgrading, or managing your island, you’ll be heading out into Horizon, a large open world filled with characters to meet, creatures to discover, quests to complete, mobs to fight, and resources to gather.

Horizon is big, and it is designed to grow over time. We’re planning to launch with two main areas, with a third arriving shortly after launch, followed by more areas in future updates.

How big? Really big.

At launch, Horizon will be made up of over 100,000 chunks, with unique biomes, points of interest, resources, creatures, and places to discover across the world.

At the time of writing, Horizon already uses over 2,000 custom blocks, created by our incredibly talented art team and brought to life in the world by our world-class builders.

The world is not just there to look pretty. It has a story to tell.

As you explore Horizon, you’ll meet characters, take on quests, and uncover more about the world around you. Some stories will guide you through the main path, while others will be found off the beaten track, rewarding players who take the time to explore, talk to characters, and dig a little deeper.

And while Horizon may seem cosy on the surface, not everything is as peaceful as it looks. Something more sinister may be waiting to be uncovered, so watch your step.

We can’t give away too much just yet, but there’s plenty more to share. In future posts, we’ll introduce some of the creatures, mobs, and characters you’ll encounter across Horizon, along with a closer look at the places they call home.
